<Obj>PICT</Obj> Mac Palm Doc Recent Version History
Version 2.0.7
Fixed a bug that resulted in files saved to your Macintosh as text files being empty.
Version 2.0.6
Updated internal libraries to fix some problems with memory management & perturbation of the default resource chain.
Added a 68K version.
Fixed a bug where saving the contents of a text window to disk (as a Mac File) caused the program to crash.
Version 2.0.5
Fixed (for real, this time) problem where Hot Sync Manager was not found if it was not on the startup volume.
Doc file names created via drag and drop are now truncated to a shorter length to enable the proper addition of the .pdb file suffix.
IF you create a do file via dragging a clipping to the hand icon - MPD will now ask you to name the new doc file -- IF MPD is the active application. Previously, this name was not properly saved.
For pre OS 8.5 users, fixed the preferences window so that controls are now visible.
Added a "New" command to the File menu. Oddly - I had overlooked the ability to CREATE NEW doc files in Mac Palm Doc! Well, no longer!
Version 2.0.4
Upgraded the text engine inside Mac Palm Doc (WASTE) from 2.0a13 to 2.0a15. This change leads to 2 changes: (1) temporary memory is now used a bit more by Mac Palm Doc, thereby reducing absolute memory allocation to Mac Palm Doc’s partition and (2) a bug in all prior versions of the WASTE text engine that could have led to some instability has been fixed.
Fixed a problem with some popup menus.
Improved appearance of the Bookmarks floating window.
Fixed a problem where you could not modify the style of text in the main edit window. NOTE: While Mac Palm Doc allows you to modify text style — text styles are NOT saved when exported to your Palm Pilot. Styles are only saved when saved on your Macintosh.
Version 2.0.3
Fixed a problem where the HotSync® Manager could not be found if (1) it’s name had been changed or (2) it wasn’t on the default volume (your startup disk). Mac Palm Doc will now search every volume (disk) on your Mac and will look for the HotSync® Manager by its file type rather than name.
Fixed problem with 2.0.2 for pre-OS 8.5 users where they couldn’t run Mac Palm Doc — being told that they were missing the IconServicesLib.
Improved appearance of the HotSync/Backups window.
Version 2.0.2
Updated several internal libraries. This will result in better long-term stability, especially when working with large files.
Added support for Navigation Services.
Fixed a bug where Palm Doc dates were not correctly calculated. Dates were always 1460 days off.
Fixed a problem where dragging files to the “drop” hand in the toolbar did not automatically create doc files.
Fixed a bug where Mac Palm Doc would not create Doc Files properly on Macs running w/o Palm Desktop installed.
Fixed a problem with bit-testing that led to confusion about whether a given doc file was compressed or not. This had been an issue for files edited by SmartDoc in which SmartDoc toggled the compression state.
Version 2.001
Fixed a problem with OS 8 users. Mac Palm Doc now works on pre OS 8 Macintoshes.
The "Standard" font used for dialogs and other windows in Mac Palm Doc is now specified by the "Views Font" in the Appearance Manager (if Appearance Manager 1.1 or later is installed). However, all the spacing allocated for text objects, popup menus, etc. was designed ASSUMING Geneva 9 point. This allows an additional "customization" for Mac Palm Doc which is especially important for non-Roman Script users (e.g., Japanese). Note: This change is only available for the Power PC version of Mac Palm Doc.
Modified Text spacing/format for all dialogs to accomodate larger text sizes (which users may have specified via the Appearance Views Text).
Fixed a bug where the Progress Window would sometimes be drawn with a dark blue border.
Fixed balloon help for floating toolbars for OS < 8.5 users. It had been either flickering or the balloons were displayed for too short a time to read them.
Version 2.0
Fixed a character conversion problem when exporting/importing ideas with the Palm Pilot. Non-English Roman scripts (e.g., Finnish, French, German, etc.) contained special characters (e.g., ü, é, å) which were not getting converted properly (because the hi-byte character coding is differen for the Mac & the Palm Pilot). This fix was made possible using a hi-byte charater translation table provided by Masatoshi Yoshizawa (Thanks!).
Added support for balloon help.
Standard text used in windows is now set by Appearance control panel (Views Text). However, most windows were designed for a small font (originally Geneva 9), so it is recommended that you use small fonts for Views Text.
Fixed a bug in the "Bookmark Roles" window in which the Add button was not being hilighted properly.
Toolbar is now hidden/shown more reliably after using dialogs.
